Photo shoot with smoke (colored smoke)

The most important thing is to come up with a subject for photography in which you want to use it. Smoke in shooting is used for brighter photographs, giving them mystery, mystery, fabulousness, or to create a certain atmosphere of wartime, disaster, smoky space. Yes, anything! Smoke looks great against the backdrop of nature in cloudy weather or at night.

Photographer Alexander Kozlov

Regular or colored smoke can be used. The effect is achieved by using special smoke bombs and torches. Moreover, the color palette is very diverse: red, yellow, green, blue, orange, purple, white, black, blue, burgundy, pink, azure. Artificial smoke is non-toxic and does not leave marks on the body and clothing.

Photographer Evgeny Sinyatkin

Smoke is used in shooting children's parties, single and wedding photo shoots. Its use depends only on your wild imagination and the experience of the photographer, who will tell you and help you decide on the plot.

Photo session on a sunny morning

Photo shoot and morning, it would seem, are two incompatible concepts. But looking at such photos, I want to live! How many people wake up dissatisfied and preoccupied, sleepy and rumpled ...

Photographer Alexander Kozlov

It’s worth starting with the fact that you need to decide where photography will take place: indoors or outdoors.

"First Look" will tell you just a few ideas:

  • morning in bed, when you are still sleeping or just woke up,
  • breakfast on the terrace
  • awakening a child or spouse,
  • a walk in the forest or in the city, on the banks of a river, lake or sea,
  • swimming in a pool or river
  • breakfast in a cafe
  • morning running,
  • rollerblading, cycling.

Turn on your unbridled imagination and think, think! And write in the comments what we forgot to mention.

The most important thing is sunlight, which, by the way, is very beneficial for the body!

Clothing should be light and casual, hair be simple and modest, makeup should be so perfect and simple, only slightly emphasizing advantages and hiding obvious flaws.

The world is so diverse and beautiful, it has so much energy and life. Treat yourself to a photo shoot in the early sunny morning!

Body painting photo shoot

Body art (English body art - "art of the body") is one of the forms of avant-garde art, where the human body becomes the main object of creativity, and the content is revealed using non-verbal language: postures, gestures, facial expressions, applying signs to the body, "decorations » (WiKi). The most popular type of body art has become body painting - drawing on the face and body (body painting on the body).

When choosing a photo session in the style of body art, you need to understand that this is a long process, where you become an object of art twice: first, an artist works with you, who will draw everything you want on the body, then a photographer who needs to skillfully capture this beauty .

Photo session in business style

In a business portrait, it is important to capture several qualities that characterize a successful and businesslike person: determination, professionalism, self-confidence and at the same time openness. , shirts and blouses, shoes with low heels.

Clean hair. Moreover, long ones should be neatly assembled into a hairstyle. In makeup, focus on the eyes - light shadows, beautifully let down eyes. The rest - light daytime makeup - lip gloss, barely noticeable blush, so as not to look pale.

Photographer Alexander Kozlov

A business photo shoot can turn any person into a grasping and tenacious, sensitive and modern - a real shark that lives according to the laws of business.

Photographer Alexander Kozlov

The business portrait of business men and women is considered very carefully, as if trying on whether he / she is worthy of being a leader. The photographer should show your strong character traits and charisma. Therefore, the image and atmosphere for a photo shoot should be chosen very carefully, thought out to the smallest detail.

Photographer Alexander Kozlov

Clothing - classic strict style, combined with elegance. You must be dressed "to the point", look like "a million dollars". This will help not only clothes and properly selected jewelry, but also a well-groomed appearance (face, healthy shiny hair, beautiful nails). The color of clothing should be warm, soothing shades. For women, nylon tights are required, comfortable shoes with heels, but not too high. Makeup - light daytime with an emphasis on the eyes.

The workplace must be in perfect order. And the little things that will complement the image and make it complete: a modern computer, an expensive mobile phone, photographs on the table, a pen, but not a simple one, but a gold one.

Fantasize!

And feel free to come up with your Ideas for photo shoots, perhaps it is she who will be the trend in the world of photo and photo shoots.

Since the article turned out to be very large, we decided, for your convenience, to divide it into two parts. Read the second part below

Publication date: 08/24/2016

Today I want to talk about my studio work and take as an example one of the topics that is very popular with my clients.

I must say right away that most often I shoot in professional studios. First, it is very convenient. There is all the necessary equipment: lights, backgrounds, nozzles, softboxes... Secondly, now there is such a huge selection of studios that you can choose interiors for any style of a photo session. Thirdly, in the studio you can make great shots regardless of the weather. This is a very important nuance in commercial filming, because they are planned for a certain day.

The topic of studio shooting is very extensive, and I decided to take my “flower” photo shoots as the basis for the article.

NIKON D800 / 70.0-200.0 mm f/2.8 SETTINGS: ISO 400, F3.5, 1/125 s, 116.0 mm equiv.

The first and probably the most important and creative stage is the creation of the concept of a photo session. I try to make each shooting individual, original and interesting. I don’t want to copy what was already somewhere, and even repeat myself. But what if there are a lot of shootings and the fantasy is still not unlimited? :)

For myself, I have identified several main topics for filming, in each of which you can create different images. One of those themes is flowers.

NIKON D800 / 70.0-200.0 mm f/2.8 SETTINGS: ISO 160, F7.1, 1/200 s, 70.0 mm equiv.

So, how do we create a concept and prepare for shooting?

It is very important to capture the mood of the model. At the beginning of communication with the client, I ask them to tell about their preferences, send photos that they like, describe all the wishes.

With flowers, you can shoot any image: light, feminine and light, dark, mysterious and even gothic. It can be shooting in the style of fashion or beauty.

At the preparation stage, we carefully work out the image of the model, and recreate it in the studio. Sometimes during a photo session, the image changes several times: sometimes dramatically, sometimes it is only slightly supplemented with new details. Therefore, the studio always has professionals who can change the make-up and hairstyle.

First, I determine how much the model itself is ready to change, to enter into some kind of role. Someone wants to perform in an unusual way for himself, someone wants to show himself. Both are very interesting.

Every girl has her favorite flowers. And first of all, you need to take into account the tastes of the model. A beautiful bouquet of your favorite peonies, for example, will already set the mood for shooting. And it is already easier to select images for certain colors. If these are the same peonies, ranunculi or wild flowers, then for sure these are gentle tones in clothes and make-up, lightness in the interior, natural, perhaps a little careless hairstyle. If lilies, feces or exotic plants, then the image can be more refined, unusual. For example, in clothes you can use designer fabrics that will complement the theme of flowers in the frame, you can think of a spectacular hairstyle, decorate your hair with fresh flowers.

Remember the paintings of Frida Kahlo, many of which are based on just such interesting flower arrangements. I also recommend looking for inspiration in the fantastic work of photographer Ryan Tandu. Many of his projects are "flower" photo shoots, where you can see how exquisitely combined fabrics, textures and fresh flowers.

NIKON D800 SETTINGS: ISO 100, F2.2, 1/160s, 50.0mm equiv.

In my photo project with Anastasia Stotskaya, we took several completely different looks, each of which was created by professionals: stylists, make-up artists, hairdressers. In such a complex image, each flower has its own, strictly defined place.

By the way, it is very effective to work with professional florists who create not only the image of the model, but also think over the background. Any such shooting will look professional, expensive, and will certainly decorate the photographer's portfolio.

Of course, in addition to the right colors, you need to correctly compose the image of the model itself: choose a dress, accessories, makeup, hairstyle.

Here are some examples of photos taken in a studio with natural light. The images are very light and feminine. Here I used two lenses: NIKKOR AF 85 mm 1:1.4D and 50 mm 1:1.4. They have a high aperture, which is very important when shooting with natural light indoors, and also give excellent sharpness wide open.

NIKON D800 / 70.0-200.0 mm f/2.8 SETTINGS: ISO 320, F2.8, 1/100 s, 70.0 mm equiv.

A lot of color grading work was done in post-production. I almost leveled all the shades, focusing only on Anastasia's flowers and hair. In Photoshop, I removed the color of the wall, the dress. They are practically colorless. Subdued skin tone. As a result, the photos turned out to be very tender.

It is very important how professionally the model entered the image. Nastya was very easy to work with. She is a professional actress and knows how to behave in the frame. For a photographer, this is, of course, luck. But most often girls come to me without posing experience, so it is very important to find a common language with the model: to feel her mood, try to liberate her.

Another important point is the quality of the photos. I work only with the expectation of printing in large format. I always keep in mind the idea that some work can get into a magazine or be presented at an exhibition. I use a 36 megapixel camera Nikon D800 for studio shooting. Its highest resolution opens up a wide range of photo editing possibilities. In addition, I appreciate its wide dynamic range, which allows you to effectively work with shadows in the frame.

NIKON D800 / 28.0 mm f/1.8 SETTINGS: ISO 320, F2, 1/200 s, 28.0 mm equiv.

The next image is very similar to the previous one, but still it has its own zest and a slightly different mood. This is a series with cotton. Just one branch was enough. We picked up a beautiful dress in ethnic style. It turned out to be a very unusual image.

NIKON D800 SETTINGS: ISO 800, F2.8, 1/100s, 75.0mm equiv.

And here I worked a little more in Photoshop, applied collage elements. I took a separate photo of a cotton branch in advance to put it in the frame later, added snow, changed the background a little.

NIKON D800 / 28.0-75.0 mm f/2.8 SETTINGS: ISO 640, F2.8, 1/100 s, 75.0 mm equiv.

I shot on an open aperture so that the background was a little blurry, at the stage of post-processing I easily replaced it with a similar one in texture and shade, but even more neutral. Here are examples of before and after artistic processing in Photoshop.

NIKON D800 / 28.0-75.0 mm f/2.8 SETTINGS: ISO 640, F2.8, 1/100 s, 75.0 mm equiv.

And here is a completely different image from the same shoot, where monstera leaves fit so well in concept. Harder light, contrasting makeup, and an emphasis on the hairstyle are used here.

NIKON D800 / 28.0-75.0 mm f/2.8 SETTINGS: ISO 100, F8, 1/250 s, 72.0 mm equiv.

In terms of staging, everything is simple here. Several people are holding monstera leaves in the foreground and behind the model.

At the stage of post-processing, I paid a lot of attention to “gloss” retouching, added juiciness to the leaves, color and contrast to the hair. Selectively applied the Color Efex Pro filter / tonal contrast with a brush.

Here is another flower image of Anastasia. Here, studio light and a dark background are very harmoniously combined with a gentle image of the model and the effect of depth of field created in Photoshop, focusing on the eyes and hair. Detailed retouching and color correction.

NIKON D800 / 28.0-75.0 mm f/2.8 SETTINGS: ISO 800, F11, 1/250 s, 62.0 mm equiv.

And these shots were shot in the studio on an open aperture, but using studio pulsed light. I wanted to blur the background a little so that the impression of oversaturation of details was not formed and the picture was softer. But at the same time, it was important to get a ringing sharpness on the model, so I wanted to shoot using pulsed light.

If you are suddenly overtaken by a creative impasse, new ideas have run out, or you are just looking for a little hint for photographing a girl, then you can use sketches as a starting cheat sheet, because they are one of the most important stages in preparing for. The more carefully they are thought out, the more interesting photos you will get as a result of photography. Many professional photographers use this technique in preparation and during a photo shoot. The girl poses in this article should be used as a starting point, and it's best to review and discuss the suggested angles with your model, especially if she's inexperienced. Thus, you will be able to establish psychological contact with the model. During the photo shoot, feel free to ask the model for her opinion on what poses she likes best. This helps both the model and the photographer feel more confident, and in the end, get decent shots. It will be very useful if, before the photo shoot, the model thinks about what she wants to see in the pictures, what does she want to emphasize? Innocence? Sexuality? Maybe something romantic? Or some special character traits? What options for poses will she do better? The following poses are a hint not only for the model, but also for the photographer, you can print them out or send them to your phone and carry them with you as a cheat sheet that will help you in a difficult moment.

In this article, a photograph has been selected for each pose presented as an illustration. All pictures are taken from the Internet (mainly from the site //500px.com), copyrights belong to their authors.

So, let's look: successful poses of girls for a photo shoot.

2. Very often, when shooting portraits, both the model and the photographer forget about the position of the hands. However, you can get something creative if you ask the model to play with her hands, trying different head and face positions. The main thing to remember is one rule - no flat, tense palms: the brushes should be soft, flexible and, preferably, they should not be turned directly into the frame with the palm or the back of the hand.

3. You are probably familiar with such a compositional rule as .

4. A very cute pose for a sitting model - with knees brought together.

5. Another open and attractive pose - the model lies on the ground. Get down and capture the shot from near ground level.

6. And again, the option for the prone position: you can ask the model to play with her hands - fold them or calmly lower them to the ground. A great angle for shooting outdoors, among flowers and herbs.

7. The most elementary pose, but it looks just stunning. It is necessary to shoot from the lower level, go around the model in a circle, taking pictures from different angles. The model should be relaxed, you can change the position of the arms, hands, head.

8. And this amazing pose is well suited for girls with any figure. Try different positions of legs and arms, focus on the model's eyes.

9. Cute and playful pose. Great for almost any interior: on the bed, in the grass or on the beach. Take a photo of the model from the bottom position, focusing on the eyes.

10. A wonderful way to showcase a model's beautiful figure. Perfectly emphasizes the silhouette on a bright background.

11. Another friendly pose for a seated model. Sit the model so that one knee is pressed to the chest, and the other leg, also bent at the knee, is on the ground. The gaze is directed towards the lens. Try different shooting angles for the best results.

12. A great way to demonstrate all the beauty and plasticity of the model's body. Can be used as a silhouette pose against a bright background.

13. Simple and natural position with a lot of options. Let the model experiment with the position of the hips, arms, head.

14. Simple yet elegant pose. Model turned slightly to the side, hands in back pockets.

15. A slight forward tilt can unobtrusively emphasize the shape of the model. It looks very attractive and sexy.

16. Sensual pose with arms raised favorably emphasizes the smooth curves of the body. Well suited for slender and fit models.

17. Full-length posing options are simply endless, this position can be taken as a starting point. Ask the model to easily turn the body, change the position of the hands, head, direction of gaze, etc.

18. This posture looks quite relaxed. Do not forget that you can lean against the wall not only with your back, but also with your shoulder, arm or hip.

19. Full length shots are quite specific and are best suited for tall, slender models. Here's a little secret for you: the body of the model should resemble the English letter S, the weight is transferred to one leg, the arms are in a relaxed state.

20. One of the best poses for slender models with a huge number of options. To capture the most advantageous position, ask the model to slowly change the position of the hands and continuously bend the body.

21. Romantic, gentle pose. Use different fabrics and draperies. With their help, you can get sensual pictures. It is not necessary to expose the entire back: often, even a slightly bare shoulder creates a flirtatious mood.

22. A good pose for a photo shoot and a great angle from which the model seems slimmer. The model stands sideways, the chin is slightly down, and the shoulder is slightly raised. Please note that there should be a small distance between the chin and the shoulder.

23. Often ordinary postures are the most successful. The model must transfer the weight of the body to one leg, while the body is bent into an S-shape.

24. The model lightly touches a vertical surface with both hands, such as a wall or wood. The pose is suitable for a portrait shot.

25. If the model is endowed with beautiful long hair, be sure to show them in motion. Ask her to quickly turn her head so that her hair develops. Experiment with shutter speed to get clear or vice versa, blurry and movement-enhancing shots.

26. In the next pose, the model sits on a couch or bed. If you give a girl a cup of coffee, you can get a thematic picture (for example, the girl is cold, and now she is resting and warming up).

27. A great and comfortable pose that is suitable for a photo shoot in the house, studio on the couch and not only ...

28. Beautiful pose for a model sitting on a sofa.

29. Excellent for photographing a model sitting on the ground. The photographer can shoot from different angles.

30. In a sitting position, you can experiment, you should not limit yourself to only certain plot poses.

31. It is believed that when crossing legs and arms, a certain psychological barrier is created between people, and this is not recommended when taking pictures. However, this is not always the case. The photographer should try to take a photo where the model's arms are crossed over her chest. This is a great pose for a female photo shoot.

Anton Rostovskiy

32. It is not always necessary to come up with a certain position of the hands. It is perfectly normal to leave them in a natural position, relaxed. The same can be said about the legs. The only thing to remember is that while standing, the model must transfer the weight of the body to one leg.

33. Another example of a full length photo pose that is perfect for a photo shoot. The girl's hands, in whole or in part, are in her pockets.

34. This is a winning pose for a summer photo shoot. Ask the model to take off their shoes and take a slow walk.

35. Model's hands behind her back, unusual, but very open and sincere pose. Also, the model can lean against the wall.

36. For worthy official portraits, a very simple, but at the same time, spectacular position is suitable. The model stands slightly sideways, and her face is turned towards the photographer, her head is slightly tilted to one side.

37. The model will look very harmonious in the frame if both hands are placed on the waist. The pose is suitable for half-length and full-length portraits.

38. If there is any tall piece of furniture nearby that you can lean on with one hand, be sure to use it. This will help create a formal, but at the same time free and inviting pose.

39. Another good posture is to sit down on something. Good for both indoor and outdoor shooting.

40. An example of a feminine and winning pose for a full-length shot of a model.

41. A rather complicated pose, due to the fact that you need to convey the movement of the model. However, if done right, the reward is a great, elegant fashion shot.

42. Excellent pose, however, certain camera settings will be required: the girl leans on the fence or the railing of the bridge. A large aperture will provide shallow depth of field and blurry backgrounds.

43. A great pose, if everything is done taking into account its features. The correct position of the arms and legs play a decisive role here. Ideal for any body type. Please note that shooting should be carried out from a slightly elevated position.

44. A great pose for an intimate photo. It can be used well in various environments, on the bed, the beach, etc.

45. Another interesting pose. We take the angle from the bottom point. The upper body of the model is slightly raised, and the head is slightly tilted down. The legs are bent at the knees up, the feet are crossed.

46. This position is not the easiest. There are a few things to pay attention to: the arm that the model is leaning on should be facing away from the body, the abdominal muscles should be in control, and the legs should be extended. The pose is ideal for an athletic body type.

47. The next difficult pose requires professionalism from the photographer. For a successful end result, he must take into account the position of all parts of the body - head, arms, waist (there should be no wrinkles in the skin!), hips and legs.

48. Very beautiful pose for shooting a model.

49. The perfect pose for fine art nude photography. An infinite number of variations are possible with different positions of the head, arms and legs.

50. A very difficult pose. The main thing is the correct position of the legs. Carefully guide the model by prompting the desired position. The model must be wearing high heels.

51. A simple and perfect pose. Make sure that the model's face is not covered by her arm or shoulder. The look directed to the bottom creates a special romantic mood. The raised elbow points away from the camera.

52. Pose for a full-length portrait near a wall. Take a photo of the model from the back.

53. Exquisite pose for sports models. Ask the model to bend the body in the shape of the letter S, change the position of the hips and arms, turn the head in different directions.

54. The use of lightweight fabric creates endless options for the model and the photographer, and great shots can be taken. It is very beneficial to use this pose outdoors in windy weather.

55. Light and simple pose that emphasizes the lines of the female figure. Ideal as a silhouette against a bright background.

56. Light and gentle posture. The model sits on bent legs, but does not lean too much on the feet. The gaze is directed over the shoulder.

57. Simple but great pose. Works in various conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Also suitable for shooting a silhouette against a bright background.

58. Using a wall or any other similar object is very helpful when creating various poses. For example, walls can serve as a support for hands.

59. Very beautiful and elegant pose. Remember that the main thing in this pose is that the model should lean slightly forward from the back of the sofa (chairs, benches, etc.).

In conclusion, I would like to note once again that all the examples shown serve only as a starting point, since there are an infinite number of variations for each pose. Do not be afraid to experiment, the model can change the facial expression, smile, turn of the head and body, the position of the arms or legs, etc. Even the smallest change in the pose on the part of the model or a change in the shooting angle on the part of the photographer can completely change the same pose. Try changing the distance between you and the model, as well as resorting to different framing and composition of the shot. In general, improve through trial and error, it’s not in vain that they say: “Learn from mistakes.” The more variations you try, the better the results will be.

Now go ahead and fulfill your fantasies!

Achieve personal and professional success through training “

It is not easy to make a beautiful photo session in the studio, you need to prepare the images that you want to embody. Even if you are going for a portfolio, it is still better to think over several options. To be honest, without props and ideas in the studio, you can only take a picture for a passport. Of course, you will definitely be offered certain props (most often - fans, hats), and the photographer will also show the finished work. But not every image will suit you.

You saw how some girls look very harmonious, for example, on a bed in a peignoir, while others only cause a smile and bewilderment. It's not about the professionalism of the photographer or the equipment, but about your ability to try on a fictional image and match it to your perception. For example, if you are shackled in life, you are unlikely to open up to a stranger. A nude photo shoot is most likely not for you at all.

As for the props, studio items alone are simply not enough to implement the ideas. For each image, it is worth choosing individual details, those that, in your opinion, will most clearly reflect the idea. It is also worth working on facial expressions at home. The mirror is the best way to tell if you get what you want. Do not forget that your ideas need to be tied to the studio interior.

The most successful images for a photo shoot

    1. Images for a photo shoot in a studio in retro and gangster style look very original. You can realize both in one visit. For example, for a lady from the last century, you will need a short lace black dress, pinned up curly hair, a long cigar holder, beads, a fan, pumps. It will not be difficult to transform into a gangster girl: replace your shoes with high boots with a square heel, put on a hat, leggings, put on a jacket or coat over the dress. Replace the mouthpiece with a pistol. Makeup can be chosen evening, in dark shades.
    1. You can combine retro style and romantic look. For this photo shoot, you need a beautiful dressing table mirror, a small ottoman or a chair in the studio. From things take a translucent peignoir, a silk dressing gown, stockings. Makeup is best done in style
    1. or natural. A long string of pearls, a large powder with a cotton pom-pom, a blush brush will complement the image. You can play in front of the mirror, imagining yourself as a languid lady of the last century or a romantic girl who is going on a date with a smile.
    1. The ethnic image is quite difficult to implement, but insanely beautiful as a result. He needs a costume (the most popular is oriental), as well as things that symbolize belonging to a particular people.
    1. Hobby. If none of the above ideas suits you because of the interior of the studio, try to have a photo session with your favorite hobby. For example, if you love karaoke, grab a microphone, put on your favorite outfit and go! If you like to draw, take an easel and paints with you. For a more accurate effect, you can even stain yourself a little with paint. The advantage of such an image will be its naturalness - you do not need to "transform".
Laugh girl. If you always find it difficult to concentrate, you can easily organize a fun photo shoot in the studio, just fooling around and having fun. Bring colorful outfits with you (funny striped tights will come in handy), braid your pigtails or make a ponytail. From the props you can take soft toys, pillows, soap bubbles, a ball.

Images created during a photo shoot in the studio are in no way inferior to those that can be used outdoors. As for the benefits, you can realize any idea, regardless of the weather outside.

1. Use Photoshop

It would seem - it sounds trite! However, the competent use of photomontage can breathe a second life into even the most hopeless photo!

2. Highlight skin texture, wrinkles

Usually, the photographer avoids - emphasizing the texture of the skin, especially if the model is a woman. However, there are exceptions to the rule! And then you can experiment - for example, by means of composition - to contrast the texture of the skin and the texture of the background, you can see such an example in the photo below. Or just find wrinkles in the pattern - emotions indescribable in words ... you can even visually enhance skin irregularities - with the help of properly selected lighting or Photoshop!

3. Use overexposure / shoot bright

Make the portrait lighter... more, even lighter! And enjoy the visual lightness of photography! Especially if you are a girl! Plus to the feeling of "airiness", photography in a light key (this technique is also called shooting in a high key) - erases small skin defects, the skin in the photo will be incredibly clean!

4. Underexposure / shoot low key

The advantage of this technique is the ability to draw attention to the light areas of the photo - for example - to the eyes! Such portraits convey, as a rule, a somewhat “oppressive” mood ...

5. Hair highlight / backlight

If you (if you are a model) or your model (if you are a photographer) have hair, then you can highlight it - with backlight, and then they will shine, sparkle in the rays of light! Using this technique - you can also get - a nice silhouette!

9. Shadows

Make the shadow an important element of photography! Sometimes it seems that a shadow can play in the frame - an even greater role than a fashion model!

10: Frame bolder

Who said that in a photo portrait - the face should be completely? Draw the viewer's attention to exactly what you want to demonstrate, and cut off the rest!

11. Focus / out of focus

Of course, in most cases - the face in the portrait should be clear, but sometimes, when the background is also worthy of attention, and the fashion model does not mind - you can focus on the background to make your face mysterious - in this case, the face can become - like a ghostly one ...

12. Movement

Use the model's movement and slow shutter speed to demonstrate the model's mobility and get the original shot. True, in this case, it may not turn out to be quite a portrait ... because the attention in the frame will be attracted by a ghostly figure - which has little in common with the fashion model ...
